Pepper — Looking Toward Retirement
As our breeding program grows and evolves, there comes a time when some of our beloved dogs are ready to leave breeding behind and begin a new chapter simply being someone’s cherished companion. We have made the thoughtful decision to retire Pepper from our breeding program and begin looking for an exceptional pet home for her. This is never a decision we make lightly. Our adult dogs are part of our family, and our priority is not finding Pepper a home quickly—it is finding the right home. We want her to be deeply loved, included in everyday family life, and treasured for the wonderful dog she is. Pepper has been an important part of Heavenly Hilltop Farm, and we are incredibly grateful for the part she has played in our program. Now we would love to see her next chapter filled with everything a retired dog deserves: comfortable beds, adventures, belly rubs, companionship, and a family of her very own to adore her. We will take our time finding the home that feels right for Pepper. We have been getting asked what we will do with our parent dogs after they are retired from having puppies. Well, we have been trying to decide on that exact thing. We have fallen in love with each one, and if we could, we would keep every single one.But that wouldn't be fair to them. For us to be able to meet the needs of each of our dogs, we are considering placing them in pet homes, once they are retired. So they will get doted on appropriately for the rest of their lives. They will still be younger, and full of love and life.
We on occasion will make room available for rescues, and if for any reason one of our families is not able to keep one of our puppies, we will work with them to find a new home for their dog.
